เกี่ยวกับการนิมนต์พระมาสวด แต่ก่อนนิยมมาเป็นคู่ เช่น 4 หรือ 8 องค์ แต่ปัจจุบันนิยม 9 องค์ เพราะคนไทยเชื่อถือเกี่ยวกับตัวเลข 9 ว่าเป็นเลขมงคล หมายถึงความเจริญก้าวหน้า โดยนับพระประธานเป็นองค์ที่ 10 ครบจำนวนคู่พอดี

ในการารทำพิธีสวดเจริญพระพุทธมนต์ทั่วไปนั้น เจ้าภาพจะทำหน้าที่จุดธูปเทียนบูชาพระ แต่ในงานมงคลสมรสกนิยมให้คู่บ่าวสาว เพราะถือว่าเป็นผู้ที่สำคัญที่สุดในงาน รวมถึงการถวายขันและเทียนเพื่อให้พระทำน้ำพระพุทธมนต์ ซึ่งจะนำมาเป็นน้ำสังข์สำหรับหลั่งในพิธีรดน้ำต่อไป
